Desmond Tutu’s Funeral Is Limited to 100 People
South African church leaders urged mourners, because of pandemic restrictions, to attend Desmond M. Tutu’s funeral services in their communities.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, New Year’s Day, the funeral will take place here, and it is here where his ashes will also be interred. You can expect announcements from other churches, institutions of state, and nongovernmental organizations within the next day. Please attend the services in your local parishes or communities. Our possible attendees to the funeral are 400 or 500 names, and more than 100 clergy. We must remember that Covid regulations limit attendance to funerals to 100 people.
