On Tuesday, the Northwest will see heavy snowfall and rain. The country will then begin a warm up with temperatures above average.

A couple of snow-making systems can bring snow to parts of the northern Plains and upper Midwest, Great Lakes, and Northeast.

Midweek, a stronger low pressure area will move into the West and bring more snow and rain.  

This system will be accompanied by an arctic front that will spread snow across the West, and into the Plains.
