The Nor’easter that brought feet of snow and near-hurricane-force wind gusts has moved on, but we’re still dealing with heavy snow for parts of the upper Great Lakes and colder air and breezy conditions behind it.
WINTER STORM BRINGING WEATHER HAZARDS to NORTHEAST, NEW ENGLAND
Expect a big temperature swing in the Plains with above-average daytime temperatures Tuesday and cooler air moving into the region later this week.
A cold front is expected to move in Wednesday morning, bringing strong-to-severe thunderstorms to parts of the South. Then there will be the possibility of freezing rain or ice in parts of the Tennessee Valley and Mississippi valleys.
Wildfires can also start in the southern Plains and spread quickly with dry, windy, and warm conditions.
